Like in Love with You by Emma R. Alban (2026)
Historical romance. Regency-era England. Standalone novel. Kinda like Mean Girls, but make it regency, and the rival ladies fall in love. Lady Rosalie has her life and her friends’ lives all planned out and is not pleased when newcomer Catherine is garnering all the attention from the gentlemen. There’s also some bad blood between their mothers and a bit of tug-o-war over a suitor ensues. Except Rosalie and Catherine have eyes for each other, and not all that interested in Mr. Boring. We get lots of fun friend group outings, a very supportive brother for Rosalie, and a meddling aunt. Super fun read.

Catch Her If You Can by Tessa Bailey (2026)
Contemporary romance. Book 5 of the Big Shots series. A few flashback chapters in this one, since Eve and Madden have known each other for years. They’ve always had a bit of chemistry together, but Eve’s best friend has had a crush on Madden for years, so she’s always stayed away. Plus Eve is the local pariah since her father owned the local strip club. Madden does not care about any of that and only cares about Eve. When he’s got the chance to make his move, he proposes and marriage of convenience. She’s definitely the one setting boundaries, but it’s really only a matter of time before she gives in. Loved this super steamy read.

Remember That Day by Mary Balogh (2026)
Historical romance. Regency-era England. Book 5 of the Ravenswood series. I love the slow and quiet romance of Mary Balogh’s books. Two people who are total opposites end up falling in love here, even when they’re supposedly courting other people. Winnie was an orphan who was adopted at the age of nine and now visiting London with her famous painter father. Her aunt, who happens to be a duchess, throws her a debut ball and pretty much pushes her into society a bit. She’s not quite courting Owen, who is a friend of her step uncle and waffles between being hopeful of a true courtship and just being happy being friends with him. The real romance here is between Winnie and Owen’s older brother Nicholas though. They’ve got a 13 year age gap and totally unsuited for each other. Except Nicholas can’t stop thinking of Winnie either. It all gets even more muddled when everyone is invited to Nicholas’ country estate for a few weeks in the Summer. Agh, I loved it.

My January Duke by Kate Bateman (2026)
Historical romance. Regency-era England. Book 1 of the Rake Review, Season Two series. Novella that takes places in the same universe as the Her Majesty’s Rebels series. Olivia has just buried her father, found herself in a heap of debt, and suddenly being rescued by her friend’s older brother and longtime crush Devlin. He’s kind of offering a marriage of convenience or a marriage of lust, but she’s hesitant since she’s been in love with him for many years and doesn’t want to commit to something that’ll break her heart later. What’s interesting about this book is that you don’t get Devlin’s point of view until at least halfway through the book, and it’s all fairly typical motivations once we hear about it. Easy breezy straightforward historical romance read.

Time Will Tell by Hannah Bonam-Young (2026)
Contemporary romance. Part of the Improbable Meet Cutes series. Super short novella. Upon the death of Georgia’s grandmother, she is given a letter revealing the truth of a secret long lost love and a time capsule. Georgia makes contact with her grandmother’s lost love’s grandson Callum and they begin an email correspondence. We can see how the third generation here is fated to meet and fall in love for themselves. Cute and endearing set up.

Since the Marquess Demands by Darcy Burke (2026)
Historical romance. Regency-era England. Book 6 of the Rogue Rules series. Look, Ellis is still reeling from the revelations of her true parentage, so she’s hiding from her friends and family. She takes up a position as the Marquess of Keele’s secretary, but she’s disguised as a man to get the job. Roman catches on pretty quick though, but lets her keep the job because she’s just so darn competent. And of course, the attraction between these two starts to simmer and they eventually start an affair. Except Ellis is keeping secrets and just generally in hiding, so definitely not a suitable long term partner for Roman, or so she thinks. Loved seeing how all the characters are entangled in each other’s backstories.

The Odds of You by Kate Dramis (2026)
Contemporary romance. Standalone novel. Fairly predictable contemporary romance set up here. Writer Sage meets actor Theo on an airplane, does not know who he is, gets photographed by the paparazzi and now kind of amidst a clout-seeking scandal. Oh, and she has massive writer’s block and her family is not at all supportive of her creative career path. But Theo is actually pretty sweet and funny and they get along great. Except for the whole being famous thing. They part ways pretty quickly, only to run into each other again a few weeks later in Scotland. Almost like fate. Single POV story from Sage’s perspective, so we don’t know any of Theo’s motivations, other than simply being attracted to Sage. They’re sweet and funny together, but of course their lives are in two totally different places, so the Scotland bubble will have to burst eventually.

I Will Light Your Way Home by Alivia Fleur (2026)
Historical romance. Georgian-era England. Book 2 of the Before Honeysuckle Street series. Widowed duchess Lorelei learns that her fourteen year old son Arley has run away from school. Luckily her man of business Tillman is always ready to assist. He’s clearly not of her class and a former schoolmate of her late husband, but he’s clearly been pining for her for years. Sweet and steamy romance here and I loved how they were able to rely on each other. Well, her mostly relying on him.

Accidentally Yours by Christina Lauren (2026)
Contemporary romance. Part of Improbable Meet Cute series. Cute little novella. Veronica tries to go to a Zoom job interview, joins a totally different meeting full of tech bros, and gives some constructive criticism in the chat before leaving. Jude, the CEO of the company, decides to hire her, sight unseen and over email. And then it turns out they’re neighbors. It’s sweet and flirty and fun.

How to Get Away with Scandal by Caroline Linden (2026)
Historical romance. Part of the Scandals series. Evangeline is a bit of an outcast after being widowed twice, the second time with her husband being shot in another married woman’s bed by her husband. She has a one night stand with a famous explorer Richard, but she leaves him without saying goodbye and he tries to track her down, but no one will help him. He’s got to set sail for his next trip, so off he goes. Only to find her again four years later. An affair resumes, but on Evangeline’s terms: no falling in love and no marriage. But we all know Richard is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to stay in Evangeline’s life.

Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen (2026)
Contemporary romance. Standalone novel. Rosalyn has pretty much been lying to her family, pretending everything is fine, when really she asked her husband Liam for a divorce and hasn’t actually seen him in three months. But the big family vacation is coming up and her grandparents are planning a vow renewal and asking Liam to officiate. They agree to pretend everything is fine during the vacation, which makes things awkward, but also they have all sorts of repressed feelings and attraction. I’d say this book veers more into repressed communication, rather than miscommunication. It’s all angsty and heartbreaking and I really just wanted someone to be brave and speak up. The whole book is from Rosalyn’s POV, and while no one is the outright villain of the break-up, everyone kind of sucks here. But the spice is spicy and they clearly still have passion for each other.

Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone (2026)
Contemporary romance. Book 1 of the Academic Affairs series. Just to be clear, even though this is an age-gap romance, it is NOT a professor-student romance. Brom and Maddie meet at a bar on her 26th birthday and have a one night stand. And of course, she shows up at his house the next day as the potential nanny for his kids. It’s a huge conflict of interest, especially when he finds out that she’s adjuncting at the same university where he works (totally different department though), but he desperately needs the childcare and she also desperately needs the money. Clearly, it’s a matter of time before they give into their attraction. But along the way, we have Brom’s amazing friend group and family to learn about, and this lovely little small university town. Maddie is also connected to the Christmas Notch series, so we get some fun cameos throughout the book. Loved it. Can’t wait to read more of this series.

Fated Skates by Victoria Schade (2026)
Contemporary romance. Standalone novel. Second chance romance with figure skater Quinn and speed skater Ben, who is interviewing her for an in-depth streaming service special. Quinn was overmanaged by her mother and coach, totally bombed her performance at the last Olympics, and now training with a new team and a new attitude. Apparently, her comeback story is TV-worthy, and her former fling Ben is at the helm of the interview. She’s trying really hard to avoid him, or at the very least protect her heart, but we all know how this one is going to end. Cute story here.

Second Act Romance by Julie Soto (2026)
Contemporary romance. Part of Improbable Meet Cute series. Cute little novella. Bex and CJ get a chance to meet again after eight years when her entire co-cast is down with food poisoning. Humorous little story here, with both Bex and CJ holding onto a crush on each other all this time.

Last First Kiss by Julian Winters (2026)
Contemporary romance. Standalone novel. Jordan is assigned the wedding of the year in his event coordinator role, but things are messy because his friend/crush, Jamie, who he’s been avoiding for months is the man of honor and always around. It’s totally awkward because 1. they shared a teenage practice kiss, 2. they’ve been hanging out lately and Jordan was rejected for a kiss by Jamie, and 3. Jordan isn’t exactly sure of his own sexuality. In reading his character, it seems he’s queer and demisexual, and it all comes down to being only attracted to Jamie. It’s a single POV from Jordan’s perspective, so we never quite know what’s going on in Jamie’s mind, but it seems like he has his own insecurities and isn’t sure if Jordan is really interested in him or interested in experimenting. I enjoyed the romance between these two and seeing them learn how to communicate with each other. I will say from an eyeball reading perspective, having two main characters with lookalike names (Jordan and Jamie) made me slow down at times to remember which character was which.
